OUR STORY
The cottages opened in 2021 after an extensive renovation, breathing new life into the old barns that once sheltered livestock during the farm’s dairy years... they’ve now been carefully restored with comfort in mind.
Much of the original character remains, from old beams to quirky features and brickwork. You’ll likely spot touches of the farm’s history throughout your stay.

Moulands Farm has been in the family for generations and is still a working mixed farm today, producing hay and haylage in the summer and raising cattle through the colder months. The countryside around us is full of wildlife, and it’s not unusual to see deer, foxes, pheasants and a wide variety of birds passing through or nesting on the farm.

Because the farm is run by a family who live and work here, we understand how important it is for everyone, adults and children alike, to feel relaxed and welcome and able to enjoy their time away.
Our aim is to offer a place where you can slow down, enjoy the space around you, and make memories together, whether that’s enjoying watching wildlife, planning day trips to local areas or simply unwinding in the comfort of the cottages.

We hope your stay feels like a breath of fresh air and a chance to enjoy a little slice of countryside life.
THE FARM

During your stay, we hope you’ll soak up the tranquillity of the countryside, the quiet of the surrounding woodland, and the gentle rhythm of farm life. From the deck, you can enjoy sweeping views across the fields during the day, and on clear summer nights the sky opens up to an incredible display of stars.
Our farm has been in the family for decades, and it’s a real joy to be able to share this beautiful place with guests. One of the most magical spots is the bluebell wood, which transforms into a sea of vibrant blue between May and June. You’re welcome to wander through this peaceful woodland, enjoy a picnic, and breathe in the soft perfume of the flowers.

Each morning, our chickens provide fresh eggs, available for you to purchase, and if you listen closely you might hear the gentle sounds of cattle in the nearby fields. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, with outdoor games and open space for children to explore and enjoy.

As we are a working farm, there may be times when certain fields are inaccessible and gates need to remain closed. These things are simply part of farm life, but if you’re ever unsure, we’re always happy to help.

If you’d like to explore further, the 20‑acre field is home to a tree platform and a tree swing — a perfect spot for a picnic, a quiet moment, or a sundowner with views stretching across the farmland. Deer and foxes are often seen here, adding to the charm. Many guests love taking breakfast or an evening drink down to the deck, and we highly recommend it.
There’s nothing quite like an alfresco meal surrounded by countryside.

Sustainability
We have made lots of conscious decisions to make the cottages have as little impact on the environment as possible. We live in such a beautiful place and we would like it to stay this way.
The cottage is powered on solar energy using our 32 solar panels which provide enough energy to power the cottages, hot tub, the EV charging point and gives us enough power for all our laundry for the cottage.
As well as this we use refillable cleaning and laundry products reducing our plastic waste. We ask that all rubbish you leave is sorted into dry recycling, glass and general waste.
We highly recommend hiring bikes and exploring the forest on two wheels. There are lots of safe tracks off the main roads where you can spot the ponies and maybe even some deer on your journey.

We are lucky enough to have land that we are passionate about looking after and make sure habitats and wildlife are preserved. We let hedgerows grow trees flourish and our woodland cared for by managing these areas. Its a pleasure to be able to share them.
